A burning incense stick on a small black dish with ash and residue, placed on a wooden surface.

An honoring space.

In this space we get to slow down, notice, and witness- the whispers, the sensations, feelings and stories your body is holding and wanting to tell.

A space that honors the pace of your system.

A space to tend to your system with compassion and witnessing.

A space that allows for the tension, constriction, the defenses to be heard.

A space to tend to the pain and the wounds that need care.

Therapeutic Approach

How we can approach our work.

    • A modality/approach that is considered bottom up. This means that we include the body in the work that we do. Such as; sensations, feelings, shapes, mindfulness, and the nervous system.

    • The body is full of information and it is deeply wise. The body holds stories and patterns of our lives as well as that of our lineage.

    • The field of Somatics did not start with western psychology. Incorporating the body in healing has been a part of indigenous, ancestral, and Eastern medicine.

    • This is a modality that works with your internal experience and the many “parts of you”. It’s a non-pathologizing way to approach our internal experience. This is a way to get to know defense mechanisms as well as the parts of us that have been wounded.

    • The hope is that through this work we can see ourselves with more compassion and clarity.

    • It is important to included the nervous system in our work when addressing any experience, especially trauma. This is done by implementing skills and tools that update our systems in finding resources internally and externally.

    • This may look like finding grounding, internal support, external signals of safety, and vagal toning (just to name a few).

  • A modality that focuses on creating timelines of your life in order to create more neural integration and a sense of core self.
